Vote Labour Thursday 4th May

Billingham Central

Ann Mccoy & Barry Woodhouse

As Billingham residents we are delighted to have been selected to stand as your local Labour Party candidates in the upcoming elections on Thursday May 4th.

We both live in Billingham and have represented many of you over the years and hope to do so in future.

As your Councillors we have:

  1. Improved access for the disabled with extra parking, dropped kerbs, modified bus stops and of course the station access campaign;
  2. Secured finance for much needed improvements in Billingham Central including a new library and call centre and play facilities;
  3. Installed CCTV in various locations for the protection of public and crime detection;
  4. Assisted in bringing a major festival (Thrift) to Billingham alongside the Billingham Carnival and Folklore festival

We have held regular ward surgeries and run a Facebook page to keep you in touch with Billingham developments.
We are currently engaged in securing funding to finance much needed improvements in our Town Centre.
We are passionate about our town and determined to continue the fight to get a fair deal for Billingham and the residents.

Our Key Pledges for Stockton on Tees
1. Help those hardest hit by the Cost of Living crisis.
2. Campaign for more police on the street and work with partners to tackle drug and alcohol related crime and anti-social behaviour in the community.
3. Deliver more affordable and social housing.
4. Support the campaign for a new North Tees Hospital
5. Work with other Tees Valley Councils to provide better public transport
6. Complete the planned improvements to all our Town Centres/High Streets.

STOCKTON ON TEES LABOUR DELIVERING FOR YOU

While local Conservatives support millions of pounds of cuts to local services and their colleagues in Parliament preside over the biggest squeeze to living standards since records began, the Stockton on Tees Labour Party, whether in your community or the Town Hall, is delivering for residents.
  • Maintained and protected weekly bin collections.
  • Invested in CCTV and Enforcement Officers to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Supported residents and businesses during the pandemic.
  • Opened the Globe Theatre in 2021, which has been a big hit, making £6m of ticket sales.
  • Safeguarded a network of 9 libraries from Tory cuts.
  • Delivered affordable housing on brownfield sites across the Borough.
  • Invested in redevelopment to support communities of our six towns and businesses.
  • Reduced and kept frozen Councillor allowances.

ANN AND BARRY’S PLEDGES TO YOU

  • We will continue the fight for the redevelopment and acquisition of the Town Centre
  • We will continue to press the government for funding for the regeneration of Billingham.
  • We will ensure that the £10 million ring fenced for Billingham in Stockton’s budget remains.
  • We will continue to press for a greater police presence on our streets and town centre.
  • We will liaise with all enforcement teams to reduce anti social behaviour and increase investment in CCTV through our community budget
