Vote Labour Thursday 4th May

Billingham East

Michelle Bendelow & Mick Stoker

Michelle Bendelow

I have lived in Billingham east ward my entire life and I feel very passionate about the area and the residents I hope to represent. I am naturally inclined to help people and already have an excellent track record in dealing with casework.

Living in an area with high levels of deprivation, increasing levels of anti-social behaviour, I am keen to bring together residents and partner agencies to tackle these issues. Local residents are at the heart of everything I do and will work tirelessly to continue to build the trust they have already placed in me to deal with their issues. In my existing roles through Thirteen and Billingham town council, I am already well know known in Billingham east ward, residents regularly contact me as they know I will coordinate with the existing Borough councillors and other agencies to address their concerns and provide timely feedback.

Cllr Mick Stoker

I have been a Labour Councillor for 30 years first as county councillor then in 1995 as Stockton became a unitary authority for Grange Ward which morphed into Billingham East. I’ve also represented the ward on the Town Council since its inception in 2007

I have a lot of experience representing the ward which now will change again at May’s election to include the odd numbered houses of Tunstall Avenue and south to the railway station

My recent activities include successfully securing accessibility improvements on Billingham Station so it can be used by everyone. After the Grenfell fire I was instrumental in getting Thirteen to fit sprinklers in every flat (not just in the hallways) in Prior and Melsonby court flats

Along with Michelle Bendelow, I would like to represent the ward again at both Stockton and at Billingham Town levels.

4. Support the campaign for a new North Tees Hospital
5. Work with other Tees Valley Councils to provide better public transport
6. Complete the planned improvements to all our Town Centres/High Streets.
