Vote Labour - May 4th

John Cunningham & Stephen Jennings

John Cunningham

John grew up and lives in Elm Tree and attended St Mark’s and Ian Ramsey C of E Schools and went onto Teesside where he studied IT before doing a degree and Masters in law.

He has worked as a caseworker with Alex Cunningham MP for the past 12 years dealing with many issues from housing and social services to anti-social behaviour and planning. He is a trustee of a local charity and on the board of several others, all working to improve lives in the community.

John knows his community and its challenges and believes as a local person he is best equipped to represent them.

Stephen Jennings

Stephen is a local resident who grew up in Bishopsgarth and Elm Tree and attended St Mark’s School and then Ian Ramsey C of E. As an adult, after attending university, he moved back to the area and has been living in Elm Tree for nearly a decade.

He is a secondary school English teacher and has been teaching for over 14 years. He also acts as a staff governor, where he champions the opportunities of disadvantaged students.

He is an active member of his teaching union and is secretary of the local association. He is really excited about standing in his ward and will work extremely hard to put the needs of the people in the ward first.

4. Support the campaign for a new North Tees Hospital
5. Work with other Tees Valley Councils to provide better public transport
6. Complete the planned improvements to all our Town Centres/High Streets.

STOCKTON ON TEES LABOUR DELIVERING FOR YOU

While local Conservatives support millions of pounds of cuts to local services and their colleagues in Parliament preside over the biggest squeeze to living standards since records began, the Stockton on Tees Labour Party, whether in your community or the Town Hall, is delivering for residents.

  • Invested in CCTV and Enforcement Officers to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Supported residents and businesses during the pandemic.
  • Opened the Globe Theatre in 2021, which has been a big hit, making £6m of ticket sales.
  • Safeguarded a network of 9 libraries from Tory cuts.
  • Delivered affordable housing on brownfield sites across the Borough.
  • Invested in redevelopment to support communities of our six towns and businesses.
